 Kebbi Governor expresses anger as potholes resurfaces on road repaired with N500 million
The Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, on Tuesday warned that he would revoke any contract and sanction contractors, who perform poor quality job or failed to strictly adhere to specifications.
 
 
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari says, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu gave the warning at the palace of Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Sami after receiving a complaint from the Emirate for non-performance and poor execution of work on the Zuru township road even though the contractor has collected payment but abandoned the project.

He faulted the state engineers for poor monitoring of on-going project across the state, warning that he would not tolerate poor execution of work from any contractor.
 
The governor requested communities to always report such, contractors to his office for appropriate discipline.
 
The Governor also made it clear that he was not happy about the rehabilitation of Maga-Ribah road where the government expended more than five hundred million naira on roads project in Zuru, but porthole have started resurfacing.

He said Federal Government has awarded contract for Maga-Zuru-Ganji road, as announced by the Minister of Works Babatunde Fashola.
 
In his comment, the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Sami expressed appreciation to the Governor for approving the renovation of his palace, which he described excellently executed.

The Emir was however unhappy about the shoddy job on Zuru township road project by the contractor who performed below expectation and urged the governor to intervene.
